Malcolm Drysdale Artist and photographer

Malcolm Drysdale : Artist and Photographer

Malcolm studied landscape architecture in Manchester and Leeds before moving to South Wales to work on regeneration projects. Art and design have always been part of his background. Malcolm is also interested in collaborative working in the area of place making and public art.

Malcolm now lives in Abergavenny and under the banner Art Apart Studio finds inspiration from the Bannau to the Gwent levels to pursue his interest in fine art and photography. The work aims to explore relationships between the natural and manmade world where place and identity meet.

Ink and watercolour offer ideal ways to capture the drama and changing character of this part of Wales. Photography allows a deeper exploration of landscape and townscape using tonal contrast to give the work greater definition and this helps convey the timeless quality of the landscape and natural world that surround us.

Malcolm is a member of Made in Monmouthshire and his work is available for sale at the craft fair in Abergavenny market every second Sunday of the month.
